World's best oven mitt! Don't let these handy little Oven Mitts fool you -- they are big when it comes to cooking in the kitchen! They really take a big bite out of the hot pots!
Materials needed to make two oven mitts:
If making the oven mitt from two fabrics:
----1/3 yard for fronts and outside pieces (enough for stripes)
----1/3 yard for inside piece and bias tape binding (enough for stripes
If making the oven mitt from three fabrics:
----1/3 yard for inside and outside side piece (enough for stripes)
----1/4 yard for fronts (enough for stripes)
----1/3 yard for bias tape binding
All oven mitts need:
----1/4 yard thermal fleece (Insulbrite (22" wide) or Warm 'n Natural)
----1/4 yard peltex (20" wide) or timtex (or other stiff and thick interfacing)
----coordinating threads
----desired embellishments (two/four large buttons or one package rick rack)
----(optional - if using read-made bias tape trim, buy one package); otherwise, use rotary cutting tools and techniques to cut bias tape trim (optional tool - use blue Clover bias tape maker)
*You can also make two oven mitts out of two fat quarters (or three fat quarters for three fabric version).
