I haven’t really made jewelry before.
I guess I have if you want to count what I made when I was in Junior High, but I’m not going to count that! 🙂
When I saw this beautiful necklace using Satin Ribbon, I HAD to try it out.
My mom’s birthday was coming up too,
so it gave me an awesome deadline to work with.
(Any one else love deadlines? If I don’t have a dead line, the supplies just sit there.)
First, I put together my beads.
This necklace takes 10 strands, about 8 – 9 inches long.
Then I sewed my satin ribbon together.
I used Antique Blue Double Faced Satin Ribbon in 1 1/2″.
This was the really hard part for me! As a nail biter, I have no nails. I ended using pliers to pull the ribbon inside out.
Another quick tip is to make sure you seal your ribbon ends. I kind of forgot since I wasn’t working with bows, but you definitely don’t want to forget this step.
Then I hand sewed the beads up inside the ribbon.
I think it turned out really pretty! And it looks even prettier on my mom.
This is another fun way to use Satin Ribbon, especially for the ladies. 🙂
