Christmas Ruffle Bows

Christmas Ruffle Bows - {The Ribbon Retreat Blog}

I had a little bit of leftover ruffled ribbon from my ruffled ribbon Christmas trees, and I decided to use it in a bow.

I used the ruffled Forest Green Polka Dot Ribbon as the base of the bow.

I hot glued it onto felt and then cut around the glue when it dried.

For my next layer I used the Twisted Boutique technique with Green/Red Polka Dot Ribbon in 5/8″.

I put the bow maker setting to be the same width as the base.

The next layer is my favorite to make! Korker bows! The Ribbon Retreat offers free instructions on how to make Korker Ribbon and three different ways to put them together to make a bow. I used the last technique.

I made the korkers to be the same length as the width of my other bows, but after putting it together it seemed to long. I cut off probably an inch of each ribbon to make this look.

To put all of my layers together, I used a needle and thread through the center.

After the bow was complete, I lined a clip with Red Solid Grosgrain in 3/8″ and hot glued it onto the bottom of the bow.

I thought the bow ended up pretty cute, and I had enough to make another one, so how could I resist?!

I hope there is a little girl out there who would love to put these in some cute pigtails!

    Hi Bobbie! No I don’t use any spray starch, but you can use it if you would like. Some use it before you bake the korkers, and some spray it on after. It does make the korkers stiff though, so keep that in mind. Thank you for your question! :)
