I don’t know about you, but I am a HUGE fan of sweet little outfits on sweet little babies! I love their chubby little legs and arms and their wrists that appear to have a rubber band around them. Hehe! My little sweetie is already 18 months old, and she is so chub-alicous! She is super cute and looks so adorable in fun little outfits that show off her cute little thighs and today, my sweet friend Shannon from Little Kids Grow is sharing an adorable romper that is so fun and so perfect for cute and precious little sweeties! Get your sewing machine revved up, because you are going to want to make one of these rompers in each and every fabric piece that you have for each and every little baby that you know! Enjoy!
Hi, it’s me Shannon from Little Kids Grow. Today I have an easy crisscross romper for your little one. It’s made out of a stretchy knit with no zippers, buttons or snaps! The crisscross design makes it easy to put on and take off. Today I’m sharing the 3-6 months that I made for my little guy. If you’re interested in additional sizes or pattern options, check here for more information.
The easy instructions are included in this post below. You can find the PDF by clicking on following link:
CrissCross Romper Pattern Pieces and Layout
3/4 yard 2-way stretch fabric. I used Small Knits Chevron (K340-21) Navy/White Chevron D from The Ribbon Retreat. I loved this fabric because it has excellent stretch recovery which helped the garment “snap” back into place while sewing.
38″ fold over elastic. I used Fold Over Elastic in Navy 5/8″, also by The Ribbon Retreat. It comes with a shiny and a matte side. I used the matte side for the romper.
Suggestions:
1. Transfer all pattern markings
2. Serge or zig zag stitch the bottom of Front A (pant hem is optional)
3. Lightly pressing seams is recommended.
4. Use 3/8″ Seam Allowance
Thank you, Ribbon Retreat!

Hi, I LOVE this pattern! I really want to make some for a friend who has a set of triplet boys using up-cycled men’s polo’s.. They are 6 and 9 months sizes though and I’m wondering when you will have the larger size pattern for sale?
Best,
Betsy Maness

Hello, my english is not that perfekt. What means “use seam allowance”? Is the seam allowance included or not? Im very thankful for your help because I love this little romper.
Hi Marlene! Thank you for your question. By “use seam allowance” Shannon means the area between the edge of your fabric and the stitching line on your two pieces of fabric being stitched together should be 3/8″ in width. By using the 3/8″ seam allowance consistently will give you a beautiful and even romper when you are finished. I hope this helps! Thank you again Marlene! Michelle 🙂
Is this a pattern available for purchase? In bigger sizes yet? I would purchase pls
