Hi, I’m Staci from The Potters – Place. I am an avid runner and in order to get the mileage in that I need I have to run in the morning before my hubby leaves for work. It is crazy but I enjoy it a lot. Because it is early, it is dark and I NEED to be seen. I have a running vest but it is not the comfiest thing to wear. It flops around and rubs me raw under my arms. When I saw the Reflective Glo Grosgrain Ribbon I knew I could make a comfortable reflective running belt. Then as I got making it I added a headband, and an ankle band because you can never have enough accessories!
All you need is The Reflective Glo Grosgrain Ribbon, {I chose black-so it would match everything and not show dirt}, sew on Velcro, an elastic hair band, and a sewing machine.

Take all of your measurements by simply wrapping the ribbon around your waist, ankle, and head like this.

For the belt and ankle band all you have to do is tuck the end under and sew on one side of the Velcro. Then do the same with the other end making sure they lay flat and connect.

For the headband…
…take the elastic band and the ribbon and fold it over the elastic and sew it together.

Do this on the other side.
Now that you are all reflective…

{gotta love the early morning pics}!
…you still have to be careful and smart and be sure to always run against traffic and on the sidewalk, if available. If you run with music be sure to have one ear unplugged so you can hear what is around you.

Be SAFE
and
Happy Running!!!
Now…I am pretty sure I want to be a real runner and make some of these reflective runner’s gear for myself. It would be so fun to wear the belt and headband around…it would so make me look like I knew what I was doing, while I was “running”. Thank you Staci for visiting us today! Make sure to stop by and tell Staci hello at her fun blog The Potters – Place.
We have so many fun tutorials that use awesome ribbon just like this reflective ribbon. Did you even know we had this ribbon? Cool huh!!! Here are a few more really great tutorials that use ribbon you might not have even known we had…
