Fabric Mod Podge Toothbrush Holder

Fabric Mod Podge Toothbrush Holder - {The Ribbon Retreat Blog}
I really liked the IDEA of Fabric Mod Podge and I have used it once before, on my Headband Holder.  When I used it on the headband holder there were bubbles and wrinkles and I kinda had a hard time with it.  Thankfully I still adore my headband holder just the way it is.  With all the headbands around it you can’t even see the flaws.

I wanted to try it again, but I knew I needed to try something different.  My friend told me that she always puts a coat of Fabric Mod Podge onto the fabric before she cuts and applies.  I thought it was worth a try, so I did just that.  I CANNOT believe the difference this made!!  Oh it was so easy!  Now I’m thinking of all the fun things I want to do with this technique!

I don’t know how long I have had this toothbrush holder!  It could possibly be as old as my marriage (7 1/2 years).  It is nothing fancy, I wouldn’t be surprised if it came from the dollar store.

If it has lasted this long I think it deserves to stick around, but it could use a facelift!

I cut a piece of fabric 4 to 5 in inches bigger than the toothbrush holder and brushed a layer of Fabric Mod Podge over it.  I let it dry for about 1/2 hour.

To apply the fabric to the tooth brush holder I put a layer of Fabric Mod Podge over one side and put a piece of fabric over it.  I would cut the fabric how I wanted it after it was on the toothbrush holder.

I cut two of the sides big enough to wrap around the corners.

The other two sides were cut exact.  I left room at the top of each piece so that I could wrap it over the top.

When all the sides were on I brushed another coat of Mod Podge over the fabric. I trimmed the top of the fabric so the inside would have a pretty line. I glued (with Mod Podge) the top of the fabric to the inside of the toothbrush holder.

Isn’t ANYTHING cuter covered in fabric?  I bet you are thinking of something you’d like to cover right now!  (I read minds).  Turn your old things into your favorite things!  Be afraid of bubbles and wrinkles no more!  I hope you put this technique to work!  Let’s make the world a better, and cuter place by covering EVERYTHING with fabric one thing at a time!
