Can a mom have enough burp cloths?
I say the answer is no.
The more the better!
Since this little one is coming this week, I figured I’d whip up some burp cloths really quick.
The awesome thing with burp cloths is that you can embellish them in so many fun ways!
You can add ribbon, fabric, Ric Rac, and more, in so many fun ways!
I kept it really simple and did rectangular burp cloths out of flannel.
I started with two fat quarters of flannel.
The blue fabric is Blue Cowboy Paisley from Wanna Be A Cowboy 2 -Blue (Flannel) for Riley Blake. The brown fabric is Brown Cowboy Dots from Wanna Be A Cowboy 2 – Pink (Flannel) for Riley Blake.
I cut the fat quarter into three evenly.
You could put the two fat quarters together and then cut, if you have a great cutter.
Match up the two fabrics right sides together and pin.
Then stitch along the edge using a 1/4″ seam.
Make sure to leave an opening to turn it right side out.
(I always put this because if it’s not in my instructions when I am doing something, I will skip it! Just yesterday I had to rip seams because I forgot to leave an opening. :))
Turn your burp cloth right side out and then press the edges with an iron.
Pin the opening shut and start your stitch there.
Continue top stitching around the entire burp cloth.
I used a zig zag stitch to give it a little bit of interest.
And you’re all done!
It’s such an easy project, and great for gifts, especially if you want to embellish them!
Like I said before, a mom can never have enough burp cloths!
I think I’ll make some more. 😉

Very cute! I love the fabric you chose:)
Again the cuteness is overwhelming! And so simple!! Thanks for another great idea!
I make burp cloths using cloth diapers embellished with RIBBONS. You can apply the ribbons on the sewing machine to one or both ends. I sometimes embroider the baby’s name on the cloth as well.
