Do you want to build a snowman? Or what about an adorable and wintry headband inspired by a particular snowman! If you know what popular movie and snowman I am referring to, chances are you have a little gal at your house that would fall in LOVE with a headband made just for her that is inspired by the ice throwing Queen of Arendelle, Elsa, and her adorable and fun loving sister Anna! Mary from Little Mama Bowtique has a sweet little girlee at her home who sure loves her new headband, and we know your Frozen fan will too! Enjoy!

Hi everyone, Mary back from Little Mama Bowtique this time with a fun Frozen Inspired Winter Headband. I love the pretty aqua and turquoise colors that the Disney movie has selling in merchandise left and right and thought I could create something to match those pretty outfits. We are going all out froofy with this one, with flowers, glitz and fluff!!

Supplies you will need:
• 7/8″ ribbon
• 3/8″ ribbon
• Centers/Glitzy Pieces
• Flowers
• Lace
• Needle and Thread
• Elastic
• Scissors
• Hot Glue and Gun
• Lighter
• Felt

First off we are going to make a 5 petal flower with our Damask print ribbon by Adornit. I love their ribbons, they always have unique prints on a quality ribbon!

First cut 5 strips of ribbon into 2.5 inch long strips and heat seal the ends with a lighter.

Fold each strip in half lengthwise to find the center and sew the ends together with a few stitches.

Place the heat sealed ends together and sew following the pattern shown, stringing each petal on.

Once all five petals are on cinch it tight to form a flower and knot.

You can put a pretty rhinestone or center in the middle, I used a Fashion Pearl in turquoise, which you will see in the final photos.

I took the Stretchy Lace and cut a half yard. I weaved in and out one of the ends with my needle and thread and gathered it to form ruffles. I placed this behind my Lily Chiffon Flower.

I repeated the same process with my 3/8″ Moonstitch Ribbon, but swirled it around to form a little ruffley flower instead.

For my white flower I just took the Mini Pom Pom Fringe (which reminds me of little snowballs) and attached it to the outside layer of my Mini White Ribbon Blossom. I arranged everything to my liking and glued the flowers together, just kind of puzzling it together.
I cut my Ruffle Elastic to 16 inches for a toddler sized headband, placed my flower arrangement, and attached with glue and a strip of felt on the back.

Oh, my, what a gorgeous headband!! I lovelovelove the damask ribbon and the lily chiffon flower–both of which I had never seen before–as well as the look of the swirly ribbon flower in moonstitch ribbon! Thank you, Mary, for sharing your beautiful creation and providing such a clear, detailed (as always) tutorial! And Happy New Year to you and your family! xoxo
