International Quilt Market

International Quilt Market was AWESOME, and was quite the experience!! We had so much fun and met lots of great people! We also ran into friends from Idaho, which is always fun….running into people you know when you’re over a thousand miles away. 🙂

Minneapolis is such a beautiful city! There are trees everywhere and it’s so green! I’m definitely a small town girl, so whenever I’m in a big city — I take pictures of the buildings. LOL

I was able to snap this picture before they opened the doors for everyone to enter. We decided to just hang back and wait for the initial crowd — and I mean crowd — to go through. It was kinda fun to watch. It reminded me of the “Day After Thanksgiving Sales”. 🙂

I didn’t take a ton of pictures of the actual booths (I know, what was I thinking?), but do have a few to share…..

This is the Sandi Henderson booth — she’s the designer of the Meadowsweet fabric. Sooo cute!! She has some super adorable patterns that we should have available soon. I love people who are creative — and believe me, she is one of them!

I noticed a lot of people were using paper lanterns in their booths. I have to say — I’m loving the paper lanterns!!

I was able to meet quite a few pattern designers. It’s so fun to be able to put faces with names. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the Little Londyn booth. Maybe it’s because I have 4 boys and have been dying to make little matching ties for them. 🙂

I was seriously amazed by some of the displays. Take this Michael Miller display, for example. So beautiful!!

But….hands down….my absolute FAVORITE booth and display was from Amy Butler!! Check these out:

WOW! Such amazing talent!! Don’t you love the pillows? I’m thinking it would be super fun to make one for each of my kids for Christmas. Yes, it’s already that time to be thinking of Christmas. LOL

Okay, and lastly….this has nothing to do with Market, but for some reason I absolutely loved this building. Maybe it’s because I love music and play the piano….

I’m still trying to figure out how they got all those notes onto the side of that building!!

So in a nutshell, we came home with a LARGE amount of fabric on order, PLUS, believe it or not, a LARGE amount of ribbon. In fact, the ribbon should be here next week and we think you’re going to love it! Tons of new printed ribbons in sizes 5/8″ and 7/8″. Stay tuned!

P.S. I almost forgot!! Remember the Birdie Sling I made for Market?? Well I had quite a few people stop me and tell me how cute it was. And…I even heard a couple of people say that the “Birdie Sling” was the bag everyone had for market this year. HAHA So, hey, I must have good taste, right? 🙂

I love Minneapolis! I grew up in South Minneapolis and am heading back that way this September. 🙂 My husband came down on recruiting orders so Minnesota was at the top of our list! I’m so happy you think it’s beautiful, I sure miss the lakes!
