Jack N Jill HAt

Jack N Jill Hat - {The Ribbon Retreat Blog}

Using the Jack N Jill pattern from The Ribbon Retreat I made this hat.  I used the fabric: Saturday Brown by Free Spirit, Natural by Bella Solids, and Cocoa from Essential Dots.  The pattern calls for a covered button for the flower center, which would be really cute, but I decided to use an antique gold bottle cap.  I really like the way it turned out.  I think it looks so cute on my friend Rachel!  Don’t you think she should be a model?!  She is tall skinny and beautiful!  She came over and I asked if she would let me take a picture of her wearing this hat.  She is so sweet and agreed.  I am definitely not a photographer, as you can see, but the camera loves her!

If you know me, you know that I don’t normally like to follow a pattern.  For some reason I get so confused!  I saw this Jack N Jill Hat pattern and I thought it was cute enough to give it a try.  I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t get my seam ripper out a few times, but it really wasn’t too bad.  One thing I really loved about this pattern is how many sizes you can make from it.  I think it would be cute to make a little one.  Maybe I will someday. 🙂

When all is said and done, I am pretty proud of myself for following a pattern.  I learned a lot and I even have something to show for it. 🙂  Go ahead and give this pattern a try!
