Hello! It’s Melanie from Find it, Make it, Love it. Steffany and I are happy to be here at The Ribbon Retreat today to share this cute jewel embellished heart, just in time for Valentine’s Day. A quick afternoon craft is just what we need, sometimes, to get through a gloomy winter day, and this pretty heart is quick AND easy. Let’s get started!

Here’s what you need:

  • Red Felt
  • Assorted Crystals and Gems of your choice
  • 6 mm Faux Pearls
  • 8 mm Faux Pearls
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Frame
  • Love is in the Air button

The trick to getting the jewels into a perfect heart shape is to cut a heart out of the red felt. This is the piece you will glue all the crystals and gems to.

Plug in your hot glue gun and gather all your jewels.

Start by gluing the 8 mm pearls all around the very edge of the felt heart. These faux pearls from The Ribbon Retreat don’t have a hole which makes them awesome for this kind of project. No hole to hide as your gluing them!

Next, start gluing all the other jewels. Space them however you like.

Finally, fill in all the empty spaces with the 6 mm pearls and the remaining 8 mm pearls until the heart is completely filled in.

Last, cut a piece of felt to fit in a frame. (Our frame is a 5 x 7 shadow box.) If you’re using a picture frame, remove the glass, and place the felt in the frame. Use the hot glue gun and glue the jeweled heart onto the framed felt piece.

We are sure loving how sparkly and pretty this heart is! It would be beautiful in so many different colors too! Red and pink are perfect for Valentine’s Day of course, but I can see purple, teal, or blue for a kids bedroom. The Ribbon Retreat even has crystals and gems in lots of different colors. Love it!

We sure hope you have a great day and we’d love for you to pop over to Find it, Make it, Love it for more great crafty ideas.

How pretty, Melanie and Steffany! It’s girly, but not over-the-top. And I love the slightly askew angle of the heart! Thank you for sharing your lovely Valentine’s Day decor idea! xoxo

P.S. Michelle, pearls without holes?!? How come nobody bothered to tell me about them until now?? (hehehehe!)

Hi Pat! Isn’t this heart just awesome?!? And those pearls…I know, they are the best! You will love working with them because the no holes is the best! I used them to create my Ribbon and Pearl Snowflake decoration and they were the bomb to work with! Have a great one Pat! Michelle 🙂
