Holiday hair bows are really fun to make and really fun to display in your sweet little girl’s hair or in your hair too! Today, the talented Mary from Little Mama Bowtique is sharing really fun and really full Loopy Puff Bows that are made with a holiday ribbon mix, glitter ribbon and super cute resins! Enjoy!

Hello everyone Mary here again from Little Mama Bowtique. Pretty soon I am just going to go by Mary though as I have decided to keep crafting more as a hobby and am pursuing photography for business instead. No worries though I will still be posting here, I love it!
It’s that time of year when we are all running around like chickens with our heads cut off, right? Find the perfect presents, travel to loved ones or host the holidays, get that picture with Santa and the kids… I know!!! So I decided to do some fun bows that aren’t quite as involved as my stacked crazy bows (whew).
Materials you will need:
Seasonal 3/8″ Ribbon Mix
I used: Peppermint Patty
Glitter Ribbons in Apple Green & Red
Dazzle Ribbon in White
Baby Pom Pom Fringe Trim
Candy Cane Resins
Felt Sheet or Felt Circles
Scissors
Glue Gun
Lighter
Needle & Thick Thread
Alligator Clips

I wanted my bows to be super full and fluffy, so I cut 12 strips of each color into 3 inch pieces. For a smaller bow cut about 7 of each color into 2.5 inch pieces. I repeated this step as I wanted to make piggy tail bows.

Take your lighter and heat seal all raw ends on the grosgrain ribbons. Do not heat seal the glitter ribbon, it just lights on fire! Arrange them in the order you would like to string them together.

Cut a long length of thread, thread your needle and knot ends a couple times. Fold each piece of ribbon in half and string both ends through your needle onto your thread. Push down to your knot as you go.
Continue until you have used all your ribbon.

Push your ribbon together and bring your end around to beginning ribbon and sew through a couple ends there. Sew a couple loops to bring the two ends together, knotting each time. Fluff your loops to form a dome shape.

I have a ton of felt so I just cut some circles but you can also buy felt circles as well. Attach to bottom of bow with your glue gun.

Measure your pom pom fringe trim by wrapping around base and cut. Attach by adding a dab of glue to bottom loops every so often until you make your way all the way around.

Attach your candy cane resins by adding just a dab of glue and attaching to a couple loops.

Attach your partially lined alligator clips to the felt circles on bottom and voila you are done!!

Good grief… where do you super-creative people come from, Mary?! I never would have thought to use pompom trim in such a clever and creative way! The ribbon loops look as if they’re surrounded by a frame of snowballs, which adds a fun touch to an already festive bow. Thank you for sharing, and good luck to you as you pursue your photography business.: ) xoxo
