Picnic Game Ribbons, 4th Blogger Competition #3 - The Ribbon Retreat Blog
Good Morning Readers! Welcome to the 3rd and final day of our fabulous Blogger Competition. The competition is heating up with two incredibly innovative, not to mention ADORABLE, projects! And today…we are making your job of choosing just one winner even harder, because Carolina from 30 Minute Crafts is here sharing her amazing project for Picnic Game Ribbons, that are you are absolutely going to love! Isn’t this competition so much fun? These blogger buddies of mine are spectacular and I am always so incredibly impressed with what they create out of a box full of SUPRISE goodies from The Ribbon Retreat! So, as mentioned above, two fantastic projects have already been handed in and posted right here on our blog! Our competition started off with a red, white and blue inspired Patriotic Hoop Art project by Bev at Flamingo Toes and it was followed up with super fun kid inspired Patriotic Wooded Spoon Dolls from Kim at seven thirty three blog! I know you guys…I wouldn’t know which way to throw my vote either!

REMEMBER…next Tuesday is the big day to come and cast your vote for your favorite red, white and blue inspired project! All three of these competing projects are phenomonal, fun, creative and so perfect for this time of year! So, don’t forget to mark your calendars on Tuesday, June 28th, to come and help us crown our 4th Blogger Competition Champion! So awesome, right?!? The winner’s fate lies in your hands! LOL!

Now that we are all recapped on this great competition, have a blast learning how to make these game award ribbons, because not only are they perfect for a picnic, but ALL YEAR long for ALL of your kiddos and ALL of those events that call for an award ribbon as awesome and cute and fun and fabulous as these! I am blown away by these ribbons and can’t wait to learn how to make them myself! Enjoy!!! Take it away Carolina!

Having a big picnic or BBQ with family and friends is one of our favorite ways to spend Summer Holidays like the 4th of July and Labor Day. And we love having games at our picnics. Traditional picnic games include watermelon eating, egg toss, 3-legged race, potato sack race, and capture the flag. Of course, the winners of each get bragging rights – but it is even more fun if they can go home with a ribbon to commemorate their victory! These ribbons are super quick to make, and thanks to supplies from the Ribbon Retreat – look awesome!

I was sent a super fun stash of supplies from The Ribbon Retreat, including this awesome tulle ribbon, patriotic ribbon in different widths, and these fun rosettes in different colors and textures.

To those supplies I added pin backs, some string, and my glue gun.

Start by cutting tulle pieces. For each ribbon you’ll want 8-10 pieces of tulle, each 8” long. You can add more tulle, or make the pieces shorter, if you want your ribbons to look more full.

Stack all the tulle, and bundle in the middle. Tie tightly with a string. Fluff the tulle to make a nice, full backing.

Cut wide ribbon into 2 8” long segments. Fork one end of each, then glue to the center of the tulle circle. Add a second, less wide ribbon, 6” long.

Glue the center rosette into the center.
