Who doesn’t love purses?? Let’s make the special little girls in our lives their very own purse, a ribbon purse.

I’m Rebeca, owner of Clips N Things on Facebook. I love creating ribbon sculptures, so make sure to come “like” my Facebook page to stay updated on the sculptures I add to my shop.
The supplies for this hair clip can all be found at The Ribbon Retreat.

Supplies needed:
3/8” Ribbon in Pink Passion
3/8” Ribbon in Shocking Pink with white dots (Swiss Dots Collection)
3/8” Ribbon in White (to line clip)
Regular Sized Single Prong Clip
Small Stick On Pearl or Rhinestone of choice
Small piece of Pearl on Strings (about 3 inches)
Glue Gun
Wood Burning Tool
Start by cutting out your pieces. 3” of the swiss dot ribbon, 4.5” piece of white ribbon to line your clip with, and the ribbon for which you will make the purse with, you will need about 15”-16” of ribbon, but I usually leave it on the roll and just cut it off when I’m done.

Next, make the bow. Take your 3” piece of swiss dot ribbon and cross at the bottom, and then glue the middle of the loop behind the crossed part as shown in the picture. You will be gluing the pearl or rhinestone to the centre of this bow.

Take one end of your main colour ribbon and fold over about 1” and glue. Fold the long end of the ribbon to cover only one side of the first loop and glue at the top, bring around back and create a third loop. Glue in place. Cross the ribbon on the back and continue making 2 loops on the other side of the first loop. Use the pictures as guides.

Glue both ends of the pearl string to the lined alligator clip, cut the strip as necessary if you feel it’s too long. Glue your purse over the pearls making sure that the sides of the purse “curl” over the string of pearls and secure it. Use enough glue for this part.

Attach your bow to the front of your purse to complete it!!

You don’t have to use swiss dots ribbon for the bow, you could use solid or any pattern you choose.
Try this purse out in different colours. I also love it in purple!!!
I have lots of ribbon sculptures on my Facebook page, and I’ve also done quite a few for The Ribbon Retreat. I hope you will try these and my other sculptures out. Thanks for reading!!
