Ribbon Easter Bunny

Ribbon Easter Bunny - The Ribbon Retreat Blog
I love Easter! I love the pastel colors, the yummy treats, the Easter egg hunts and the memories I have of spending Easter day with family and friends! Because I love this fun holiday, I wanted to create something super fun, super easy, and super sweet to place on my entry table next to the cute Ribbon Easter Egg I made last year! I love my ribbon egg, and now I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my ribbon bunny!

This fun Easter project was inspired by the fabulous Valentine Ribbon Art that the amazing Kim from Girl and A Glue Gun shared with us in our 1st ever Blogger Competition…which brought her home the win! I loved how her festive ribbon peek-a-booed through those sweet little hearts, so I thought it would be so much fun to do something similar with my scrap ribbon for Easter! I love bunnies and their fluffy tails so the idea was formed for this fun little guy!

Let’s get started! This ribbon bunny is very, VERY easy and only took me about 20 minutes!

Supplies:
Scrap pieces of coordinating ribbon of all widths, colors and designs
Hot glue gun and glue
2 pieces of card stock
Bunny clip art printed off
Scissors

Easter Crafts
The hardest part about this project was the part when my printer was experiencing a technical difficulty so I actually had to trace the bunny clip art I chose off of my screen. Hehe! Hopefully your printer will work so you can print off your clip art…it makes things so much easier!

Trace your clip art onto your card stock. Because card stock is rather thick and hard to see through to trace, I put my card stock under my notebook paper and traced, pushing hard, the outside of my bunny creating an indent in the card stock and then cut out my bunny.

Choose pieces of scrap ribbon to use and cut to your desired length. I cut my ribbon to be the approximate width of my bottom piece of card stock.

Place ribbon in desired order.

Put bunny on top to make sure the ribbon will create the look like you want.

Carefully hot glue ribbon to card stock. I place a small line at each end of the ribbon (on the card stock) and two very small dots in the middle. Place ribbon on hot glue quickly so the glue won’t harden and cause a bump in your ribbon.

Trim excess ribbon.

Hot glue the top card stock with the image cut out of it, onto your ribbon by placing hot glue around the edges.

To make the tail, I wrapped some white yarn around my fingers. I wrapped and wrapped and wrapped the yarn until I felt my tail would be fluffy enough.

Ribbon Easter Bunny - The Ribbon Retreat Blog
Slide the yarn off your fingers and use the end of the yarn to wrap around the center of the loops you created.

Ribbon Easter Bunny - The Ribbon Retreat Blog
Cut the ends of the yarn until you have your desired fluffiness and hot glue the tail to the ribbon. There are many ways to create a tail so if you have a better/more efficient way to create your tail…go for it!

Look at that ruffle ribbon…..ohhhhh, I love it!

From picking out the ribbon to staging this decoration for it’s big debut, I don’t think I have ever had so much fun creating a project for my home. This little Easter Bunny was such a blast to make and is one of my favorite crafts ever! He looks remarkable on my table, and my kiddos think I am a creative genius. They love this colorful little guy and so do I!

I hope you have as much fun as I did creating your own Ribbon Easter Bunny! Scrap buster projects are the best…especially those that turn out so fun in the end!

You’ve come up with some amazing projects, Michelle, but this adorable ribbon bunny has to be my favorite!!♥ I love all of the ribbon colors and sizes you chose, as well as the different textures; I’m a miserable failure at color combinations… I’m too OCD matchy-poo.: ( But when I see combinations that I never would have come up with, I invariably fall in love with them!

The squiggly yarn you used for the pom pom-style bunny tail is perfect, but one could also substitute a TRR flower, like this one: https://www.theribbonretreat.com/Ribbon/bon-bon.aspx

    Happy Easter, sweet Michelle! xoxo

Hi Pat! Wow…thank you so much! That is so nice of you. I truly love this cute little bunny too. He was so much fun to make and was so easy. My boys were at home when I made him, and they even love him and said how cute he is! Isn’t that awesome! And…I totally agree with you that using a cute flower in place of a yarn pom pom would look so adorable! Have a wonderful day and thank you again Pat! Happy Easter to you as well! Michelle 🙂
