Santa Claus is coming to town, so let’s celebrate with a Christmas bow!

6″ length of 3″ Red Solid Grosgrain Ribbon
4″ length of 3/8″ Solid Grosgrain Ribbon
White Maribou
Double Prong Hair Clip
Scissors
Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Needle and Thread (pictured, but I ended up using hot glue instead.)
Wood Burning Tool (optional)

This Santa Hat Ribbon Sculpture is basically the same as the Witch Hat Ribbon Sculpture,
only with a few “Christmasy” changes.

So, if you made one of those for Halloween, then you’re golden!

Start by cutting your ribbon. Cut a 6″ length of the 3″ red grosgrain and a 4″ length of the 3/8″ white grosgrain.

Fold the red ribbon in half to find the center, then fold the corner over and begin rolling inward.

Continue rolling the ribbon into a cone shape.

Turn and trim off the excess.

Add a line of hot glue down the edge of the ribbon and hold until dry.

This is off topic, but it’s a great photo to show you the fine nozzle of the H-185 High Temp Mini Glue Gun. I am in love with this glue gun, and I don’t know why I didn’t purchase one sooner!

Seal the ends with your preferred method.

I used the my Creative Wood Burner, but Fray Check or a lighter would work, as well.

Apply hot glue to the base of the “hat” and wrap the maribou in a circle all the way around.

Cut the excess maribou.

You might want to keep a lint roller handy, this stuff gets everywhere!

Cut a tiny bit of the maribou and glue to the top of the hat.

Trim the maribou down if you’d like.

Normally I would glue the base to a felt circle, but the maribou gave the hat a good base,
so I just glued it straight to my ribbon lined clip.

Voila!
Finished!
