Hey there Ribbon Retreat Friends!
Today I am excited to share with you a fun Satin Layered Flower!

You will need:
your color choice of satin taffeta fabric
lace
gem for center of flower
scissors
lighter
needle and thread

Ribbon, Trim or Embellishments

To start, you will cut your fabric and lace out into various sizes of circles – 3 inch diameter down to 1/2 inch. You can trace circles or free hand them. I free handed mine.

When you have a good size variety of satin and lace cut, you will then take your lighter and burn the edges of your satin circles. This will cause them to curl up.

Now the fun assembly comes in.
Play around with your circles – typically layering them large to small works best. But let your creativity take over! Layering them kind of off set is also fun, in my opinion.

Once you have decided how you want it to look, thread your needle and secure your flower peddles together with a few stitches in the middle then attach your gem!
(An alternative to a gem can be beads)

When your flowers are complete you are ready to attach them to a clip or headband or broach pin.
