This Witch Bow is SO cute and festive!!! Included in this tutorial is how to make the cute ribbon sculpture of a hat, legs, and feet. This bow is so cute that you can make it without the ribbon sculpture. Just do whatever you’re comfortable with. 🙂 Although, ribbon sculptures are a lot of fun!

Our first step is cutting out our ribbons for the bow. Cut the ribbon to 5″. You do not need to seal your ends. Line up the ribbons in the order you would like them to be on the bow. I have two ribbons of each color. We will be making two bows. Feel free to mix up the order on the second bow.

We are going to be making two Spike Bows. Click on the link to see how to make this bow.

Now that you have your two bows, we are going to layer them on top of each other. Make sure that the ribbons that are layered aren’t on the same side.

Take a stitch in the bottom layer of the bow and wrap the thread around both bows. Then after you’ve tightened the thread, take a couple stitches in the bottom layer again.

Next we’re going to cut the ends. You can do the slant cut like I did, or you could do spikes. I personally love the look of the slant. Cut all the ribbon ends in the same direction. Then seal your ends with a lighter or your preferred method.

This bow is going to be turned to the side. Normally you have the ribbon ends on the left and right, but we are turning it to be on the top and bottom.

Take an extra piece of your printed ribbon and cut spikes in the end and seal. Then pull a needle and thread through the center and crease the ribbon and wrap, making a little spike bow.

Now we are going to make our ribbon sculpture!

We are going to make the legs first.

Cut out about 6-10 pieces of the 1/4″ ribbon. Size doesn’t matter, just make sure it’s longer than 3/8″. You do not need to seal your ends. Also cut a piece of black 3/8″ ribbon. This one here is about 4″ long.

Take hot glue and put a little bit along the black ribbon. Take your pieces of the 1/4″ ribbon and place them on the glue. Only do a little at a time. We don’t want the glue to harden before we get to it.

Once the 1/4″ pieces are in place, we are going to trim off the excess ribbon with the wood burning tool. Just flip over the 3/8″ black ribbon and glide the wood burning tool along the edge.

You can do one really long piece and cut it in half to get your two legs, or you can do two pieces of ribbon.

We also need to make Witch Shoes, a Witch Hat, and Buckles for the shoes.

These are very hard to get pictures of while doing it. 🙂 So if you need to see how I carved out these pieces from the ribbon, check out our Witch Bow video tutorial (click on the link!).

Shoes: 7:34
Hat: 8:30
Buckles: 9:00

And putting it all together: 9:50

Glue the ribbon sculpture onto our little Spike Bow.

Then all that’s left is gluing the clip onto the back of the bow and then glue the little spike bow with the ribbon sculpture on the center of the bow. Remember we have the bow going up and down (it’s sideways in this pic). 🙂
