Hello Again! Today I’ll be showing you how to make a simple little Fabric Flower.
The supplies I used are listed below. The Ribbon Retreat carries everything needed to make this flower.
Moda Candy (approx. 25 squares)
Hair Clip or Elastic (Optional)
First, start by cutting circles out of the Moda Candy squares. To save time, you can stack a few squares together, and then cut. They don’t need to be perfect, because you won’t notice in the finished flower. I used approximately 25 squares.
Fold your circles in quarters and start stitching them around the felt circle. I did 3 stitches in each little piece to make sure it was securely fastened to the felt.
Keep going around until the circle is complete. Then do one more circle on the inside. I moved the pieces in about 3/8”.
Take up a couple stitches in the back to finish the flower off. It doesn’t look pretty… but you can cover it up by gluing on another felt circle to the back.
Add a little glue between the 2 layers of fabric so the stitches aren’t seen.
Take 4 more circles and trim them down just a bit. I cut off approximately 1/4”. Then fold them in quarters again, but securing with glue this time.
Put a dab of glue in the center of the flower and add the 4 folded circles. At this point, you can trim any edges if you need to.
There you have it! A cute little Fabric Flower. Now you can add a hair clip or put it on an elastic headband as I did in the first picture. These are great for girls of all ages. Make some mini ones out of smaller circles, cluster them together, etc!
There are so many possibilities. Happy flower making!

Thank you, Brynde, for this wonderful tutorial… what an adorable flower! It’s so perky and colorful that it’s making me think of spring–while we in the mid-Atlantic region are expecting yet another snowstorm in a couple of days. Ugh.
And the TTR Moda Candy selections are amazing! I started a list of the ones that I want, until I realized that I was wasting my time because the list of the ones I *don’t* want is much shorter! xoxo
These are so cute..thanks!!!
