Sometimes you come across a product that just shouts to you, begging you to create something beautiful out of it and today, Kaeleen did just that. She took a piece of Frayed Chiffon Grass and transformed it into the funnest, simplest and most eye catching hair bow ever! With a blinged out ribbon slider and adorable chevron elastic headband, this stunning hair bow has everything needed to become your next favorite hair accessory! Enjoy!
Today I am going to show you how to make this fun Frayed Chiffon Grass Bow!
All you need is:
– Frayed Chiffon Grass
– 3/8″ or 5/8″ Ribbon
– Ribbon Slider
– Elastic
– Needle and Thread
– Hot Glue
When you get your frayed chiffon grass it will be on netting, you will want to cut off the excess on the sides. See the picture below.
Cut the Shabby Grass at 8 inches.
Fold the ends into the middle.
Prep your needle and thread.
Sew the two ends together…..
….to make a little tube.
Find the center and pinch it to make a bow.
Take your needle and thread through where you are pinching.
Wrap it around a couple of times, pull the thread tight and secure the needle and thread.
Wrap your ribbon around the center where the thread is and glue it.
How cute is that?!
Now it’s time to add some BLING!
With this oval ribbon slider you will need 5/8″ ribbon. Slide a piece of ribbon through the slider.
Place a drop of glue on each side of the back of the slider.
Fold over the excess onto it’s self, glue and attach to the front of your bow!
Add a clip or elastic headband and you’re done!!

Love the bow. If you add it to the chevron headband, what is the best way to do that? Is it best to add a clip to the bow and a piece of ribbon wrapped around the headband so that you can just clip it onto the headband?
Thanks
Oh, how pretty! I’ve never worked with chiffon grass (nor much of anything else – hehe!)… what a beautiful bow it makes! I love shabby chiffon flowers, and the two halves of the bow look like super-, ultra-, mega-full versions! The slider and ribbon embellishment add an unexpected, fun touch. And what an easy method you devised for attaching it! Even *I* could handle that!; ) Another winner, Kaeleen! xoxo
