If you have a little Frozen fan in your home, they are going to absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE today’s adorable and whimsical project. Mary is sharing the cutest Frozen Inspired Winter Wand that is sure to be a hit with all of your Elsa and Anna or Olaf fans. My little girl loves that ever popular film and will absolutely LOVE this fun wand too! Enjoy!
Hi everyone thanks for joining me again!! Mary Conway here with a Frozen Inspired Winter Wand!! The Ribbon Retreat has lots of amazing ribbon to make such a fun wand!
Supplies you will need:
Wooden Dowel
3/8″ Ruffle Ribbon in Light Blue and Misty Turquoise
3/8″ Dazzle Grosgrain in Mineral Ice
3/8″ Solid Sheers in Aqua
3/8″ Velvet in Hydranga
3/8″ Glitter Ribbon in Iridescent
Kendra Ribbon in Aqua
3/8″ Metallic Ribbon in Silver
Baby Pom Fringe in White
Snowflake Resins
Jumbo Sequin Bow in Silver
White Glimmer Tulle
Scissors
Glue Gun
Lighter
Needle and Thick Thread
First start off with your dowel and wrap it in your 3/8″ metallic silver ribbon. Pull really tight as you wind and glue like every other rotation, until dowel is covered.
Next, take your white glimmer tulle and cut about 8-10, 5 inch strips. Take a needle and thread and weave each center of piece onto thread until all pieces are on thread. You will have a little tulle puff. Make sure to knot thread several times.
Place this puff at the very top of your wand, and then place your jumbo sequin bow on top of the tulle puff. Top the sequin bow by placing your snowflake resin in center of bow, sorry I forgot to take a picture after that step (until the end).
Take each of your ribbons and cut 2 strands of each into 18 inch strips. I cut all the ends that would be at the bottom into diagonals. Heat seal all ends with your lighter, with exception of pom fringe. For those that have metallics and sheer make sure you heat seal fast otherwise they melt or catch fire.
Take a knotted thread strand on your needle and thread each ribbon strand on in whichever order your heart desires. Basically like threading beads on a necklace! Loop your thread through all the strands a couple times and knot several times.
Take your ribbon strand bunch and attach with hot glue behind your tulle puff. Voila you are done. A fun, short, easy craft for your little girl to enjoy. Mine was watching over my shoulder “are you done yet, Mom???!!!”.
Thank you all for joining me and reading along. There is lots of endless opportunities for these ribbon wands. They would make awesome favors for birthday parties or even for swirling around a bride and groom for wedding photos!!
Thank you Mary for this fun, fun and easy craft! This wand is gorgeous, whimsical and so perfect for all of those little princesses! They will give those wands a whooosh and a whisssh and that little wand will come alive. The ribbons are fantastic, that tulle terrific and that sequin bow is stunning!
