Welcome back to YouTube Thursday! It’s one of my favorite parts of the week, because our video tutorials are “off the chaaaaaaain”…thank you Mel B from America’s Got Talent!! Haha!

YouTube Thursday is all about getting crafty, one awesome video tutorial at a time, every single Thursday! So, what do you say we get started? Today, Shirley is going to show us how to completely transform a baby necessity into an adorable and eye catching creation….the beloved onesie! She is going to take a simple white onesie (or you could easily use a shirt) and add a little bit of ribbon to completely change the look of the garment. This project is fun, easy and a super budget friendly one too!

But first…don’t forget your supplies!

Multi Colored Ribbon Button
Shirt or Onesie
Ribbon
*Shirley used 2 1/4″ Solid Grosgrain and 1 1/2″ Houndstooth Ribbon
Stitch Witchery or Fusible Web
Bow (optional)
Seam Ripper
Scissors
Lighter or Fray Check
Needle and Thread (for bow)
Sewing Machine
Iron

    How would you recommend washing this onesie to preserve the ribbon and bow? Thank you!

      Hi Cathy! Thank you for your question! When I made a onesie similar to the one in this video tutorial, I did not experience any issues with the ribbon that I sewed onto the onesie when I washed it. However, I pinned my bow to my ribbon as opposed to sewing it on, so that I could remove it when I washed it. I have had to spot clean the bow a couple of times, which worked wonderfully with a damp rag or with a baby wipe. Good luck Cathy and thank you again for your question. Have a great day! Michelle 🙂
