I am a HUGE wreath fan! I love wreaths on front doors welcoming in a brand new season or holiday, hanging beautifully in homes acting as an eye catching decor, and I love wreaths that begin as plain jane and then with a little crafty goodness become gorgeous or funky and fun masterpieces! Whatever the reason or season, I LOVE wreaths! Meredith from Wait Til Your Father Gets Home is sharing one of my favorite wreaths for this upcoming 4th of July holiday that is full of American Pride and crafty goodness! Enjoy!
Happy Summer everyone! I’m so excited that it’s time for sunshine, cookouts, and days by the pool. I also LOVE celebrating all the Summer holidays {including two little boys’ birthdays in this household}. To gear up for Independence Day and my oldest son’s July 3rd birthday, I made a fun, new Patriotic Ribbon Wreath using some awesome ribbons and tulle from The Ribbon Retreat.
To make one for your home this year, you’ll need:
navy, red, and white tulle {25 yds each}
various red, white, and blue ribbons
wire wreath form
wreath door hanger
scissors
I started by tying the tulle around one ring of my wreath form. I did two sections of navy and the rest alternating red and white.
I cut each piece of tulle to be about 5-6 inches. I never used a ruler or measuring tape. Just eyeball it and trust your instinct with how long you want the pieces to end up. Once the tulle was tied all around the form, I got to cutting 5-6 inch pieces of the rest of my ribbons. I stuck with the navy and solid white ribbons for the star field and used any combo of red and white ribbons that I had for the stripes.
This wreath is so easy and fun to make and the perfect activity to keep your hands busy while watching TV at night.
Once I felt like the wreath was as full as I needed it to be, I hung it on our front door and admired my handy work.
I think it’s the PERFECT addition to our front entrance for the upcoming holiday!
Happy 4th of July everyone!
