One of the reasons I love to decorate for the upcoming season or holiday is so I can put a cute decoration on my front porch and door. I also love to drive around and peek at all of the decorations on houses and front doors of my neighbors, friends and fellow town folk. I always get so inspired by others and their fabulous decorations. Today, Kami from Sweet Charli, is sharing a super fun and festive project that she has created to place on her back porch and to be admired by all her family and friends during their holiday festivities and every time she is outside enjoying the fresh air. Enjoy!
Hi guys!! It’s Kami from the blog Sweet Charli. I’m super excited to share a 4th of July project with you all today because guess what, it’s my favorite holiday!!
It is in just a few weeks, and I wanted to decorate my porch to show my pride for our great country! I have been wanting to make a wind mobile to hang and I finally got around to it.
I am obsessed with how many fun ribbons there are to help make this project. My favorite place to get them is The Ribbon Retreat, because they have so much variety and the price point is great. I gathered different colors, textures, widths, and lengths. Everything from ric-rac, curly ribbon, stripes, polka dots, lace, ruffled ribbon, or straight ribbon works for this. Basically, the possibilities are endless!
After debating on whether I should hang it on my front porch, my back porch, or my deck; I decided to leave it on my back deck because that’s where we will be BBQ’in for the 4th of July.
Here is what you’ll need for this project:
Embroidery hoop (size of your choice)
Variety of ribbons (I got all mine at The Ribbon Retreat
Hot glue
Paint
Start off by painting your embroidery hoop the color of your choice.
Once it is dry, start gluing your ribbon on the hoop. I did this by folding over the ribbon and gluing it to itself on the inside of the hoop as shown below.
This project is really easy and probably takes only 10-15 minutes to make not counting the painting part. It makes such a statement wherever you choose to hang it.
I hope you all have a happy 4th of July and if you are planning on making this, have fun!
Have you been inspired by this cute project? I love how Kami used all of that fun ribbon and ric rac to create a fun and inspiring project. Ribbon can be used in so many ways and Kami showed how much fun it can be to use it for an outdoor project. For more great projects by Kami, make sure to visit Sweet Charli.
The 4th of July is coming. It really, really is. And with the 4th of July being right around the corner, that means that summer is RUSHING BY…can you believe how quickly the summer is already slipping away? Let’s make a deal, let’s not think about that…deal??? LOL! Let’s talk about the 4th of July and all of the great fun this patriotic holiday brings! Here are some more fabulous patriotic projects that you are sure to love…
