St. Patty’s Day Rainbow Hair Clip

St. Patty's Day Rainbow Hair Clip Tutorial - {The Ribbon Retreat Blog}

This little rainbow bow is perfect for Saint Patrick’s Day and for any day of the year!
The brightly colored rainbow ribbon is sure to match just about anything in your little lassie’s closet!

St. Patty’s Day Rainbow Hair Clip

– Supplies –

4″ length of 5/8″ Rainbow Stripe Ribbon
4″ length of 3/8″ White Solid Grosgrain Ribbon
2 strips of white fabric (about 3″ x 8″)
3 white felt circles
1 alligator clip
Scissors
Glue gun
Glue sticks

Start by making two fabric rosettes with your white fabric.
Shirley shares a fabric rosette tutorial here at The Ribbon Retreat Blog.
Click the link for the tutorial.

Glue felt circles to the back of your rosettes.
Trim the circles down if needed.

Seal the ends of both lengths of ribbon with your preferred method.

Line the clip with the 4″ length of white ribbon.

Hot glue one end of the rainbow striped ribbon to the left side of your clip.

Turn the length of the rainbow ribbon toward you and glue the end to the right side of the clip.

Open up the clip and glue a felt circle on the under side of the top prong of the clip, as shown in the picture below. There isn’t room to do this on the left side, so just add one to the right side.

This step is optional, but I’ve found that the felt circles help keep the bow secure.

Hot glue the fabric rosettes to the clips at the ends of your rainbow ribbon.
They will be your clouds!

It’s as easy as that!

This bow is sure to make even the leprechauns smile!
