Hi again! It’s Amy from Nap Time Crafters and I’m back today with a quick and easy baby gift!

This little sun tag pillow takes less than 15 minutes to make and is well received by the one and under set. 🙂 At least my little man is enjoying the soft cuddly sun with lots of rays for him to grab onto and chomp on.

The Ribbon Retreat has so many fun ribbon choices that it was easy to come up with lots of different textures and patterns to make the rays! My little guy is especially partial to the silky ones. 🙂

You will need:

Assorted Ribbons
Yellow Minky (1/4 yard is plenty)

1. Cut enough rays to go around your sun. My sun piece is about 6″ across, and I used 8 rays. Each ribbon loops is about 5″ long. Fold the ribbon rays in half with wrong sides together and sew to the right side of the sun. The raw edges of the ribbon rays should be on the outside edge of the sun.

2. Add a 2nd sun piece on top and sew around the outside edge leaving a 2″ gap between 2 of the rays.

3. Turn right side out and stuff.

4. Hand sew the gap shut and then make 10 more because they are just that easy! This is my new go-to baby gift 🙂

If you put in some cellophane wrap ( clear stuff used for wrapping gift baskets, flowers etc.,) along with the stuffing, it will make the crinkle, crackle sound when squeezed.

The cute tag along makes a cute toy to go with baby quilts made with leftover quilt fabric.
